Organised by the Kingston City Rollers and State Victoria, the United Roller Derby Playoffs will be staged at the ARC Community Centre over the weekend of September 26 and 27.
The tournament will bring together seven teams from across Australia, as well as a ‘pot luck’ team, comprising skaters from various leagues, including Ballarat, Geelong, Light City Derby and Kingston City Rollers.
URDP is different to other tournaments in Australia in that it allows for both women and men to play on the same team.
To raise money for the tournament and for the Derby Demon Memorial Fund, Kingston City Rollers will be hosting a 1920s casino night on August 22.
The night will include live music, classic cars and the glamour of the 1920s, as well as lots of prizes to be won.
