Under 13s
Fresh from a bye paid off for the local team with an outstanding game of defense and attack against Bacchus Marsh Blue.
The young guns from Daylesford and surrounds showed how far they have come as a team.
Daylesford's kicking, passing and scoring spree commenced in the first two minutes when Jonas Paar scored after weaving through four defenders to place a perfect kick in the net.
A second goal shortly followed for Jonas, then a further two thanks to the the strong balls sent down by Ryan Thiesz from goal and continuous combined sets and assists by Franki Harvey, Luke Warden-Hommel, and Otto and Rennie Saunders.
In the second half, despite and outstanding defensive game by Sean Armstrong and Eric Kelly, well supported by Flint Harley, Kelton Reid and Miles Wilkinson, the Marsh players found their feet and slotted through two goals.
Daylesford soon replied with two further goals by Jonas, and a couple of post hits. Daylesford's tired legs from a fierce and confident game of soccer were well reinforced and supported by the outstanding players from the bench. The most confident and strong game of the season for the Saints resulting in a final score of Daylesford 7, Bacchus Marsh 2.
Under 15s
Daylesford Under 15s played second on the ladder team, North United Black. Daylesford started well and matched North United for effort and intent. Goalkeeper Tiger was able to marshal the defenders to play a well structured game that made it difficult for the more skillful and stronger North United to play with any flow.
James and Sean were able to counter the attacks and Holly and Cameron showed much determination and courage along the wings to send the ball forward. North United was able to get two goals towards the end of the first half. Unfortunately in the second half, Daylesford succumbed to the constant pressure and lost their structure. Final score was 9-0 to North United.
