A NEW kitchen at the Argus Dining Room will open up options for locals and offer a more casual eating experience.

The changes see two large windows integrated into the dining room, which gives a bird’s eye view of food preparation.
Head chef David Willcocks said the expansion of the Hepburn restaurant will help them provide a larger menu for those looking for a more relaxed time.
Even gourmet hamburgers aren't out of the question.
"We'll be able to use the secondary cuts of meat and make some braised dishes or pies and stuff like that" he said.
"We're really hoping local people will come down regularly, not just for that special occasion."
He said the new kitchen also added a layer of inclusion for guests, and provided space and comfort to cater for the 70-plus guests often visiting the restaurant.
"It's rare for a restaurant to actually expand its kitchen so we are pretty lucky," he said.
"The old space was becoming quite squashy but now we have lots of possibilities and even a pastry area."
The new interior was designed by Tim Smallwood who has also been the inspiration behind the new look Park Hyatt and Westin Melbourne Hotels.
Future plans include glazing and heating the outdoor area to provide a European feel.
The Argus also won the Regional Restaurant of the Year in the Tourism Accommodation Australia awards this week.
The awards specifically target the accommodation sector.
The Argus Dining Rooms is open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday and lunch on the weekends.
The Lounge menu is available for lunch seven days and dinner on Monday and Tuesday.
