My reasons for going to the Glenyon Shire Hall was the council officers’ reasons to abolish tip tickets and set up a roadside pick up. Each household on the run has to pay, user pay I would say.

Tip tickets over a period of time have been a fair way of sorting for many and I agree some would be suited to roadside, ie houses in line or of a small village type layout.

Many of us are bush orientated, hilly, poor curbs, access difficult etc. We now sort our used food and drink items and place pride in our finished effort, with incentive to do so.

I have offered to take a council officer on a small but meaningful tour of my end of town to show him why the tip ticket system helped many to do the right thing for our environment and prevent dumping.

We try to keep the bigger type of vehicle off our country roads, so here too is a problem, accidents do happen, common sense should prevail.

Surveys as conducted on this waste management would have a totally different result, if some of us generation people talked to organised forums throughout our shire.

Assumption of a yes vote just because you don’t vote is not a democratic system and is floored.

Most are worse off with the abolishment of tickets.

A council representative voted on by us at the above meeting quoted the savings to the shire, well time will tell.

This is a serious problem and will certainly cause divisions.

We should have choice to run with pick up or the system at presen. We elect personnel to represent us, sometimes I have serious questions on this fact.

Personally I will sort out with consultation what is best for my family and I; you must do the same. Don’t ever think you do not count.
