Of course the Daylesford-Hepburn area requires a community hub of it own, housing a library, and possibly tourist information services, however in the on-line era is it necessary that the council's administrative offices are also accommodated there?
Perhaps if the administration offices were built in another location within the shire,
a larger portion of the proposed hub's interior space and surrounding grounds could then be dedicated to recreational community use.
The current council depot site in Creswick would provide an ideal site for such a structure, it is an extremely large level block of land and is central to the town, in fact a mere stone throw away from the forthcoming Creswick Hub. The visual impact of any heritage sensitive structure built on the site would in part be absorbed by the natural inclination of the land. Local businesses would no doubt be happy to handle the additional lunchtime trade.
