The event attracted more than 80 riders, from as far as Broadford, Lara, Ballarat, Smythesdale, Snake Valley and Kingston.
More than $3000 was raised as a result, with the money going towards pancreatic cancer research.
Hepburn Lagoon Trail Ride co-owner Kieran Prendergast said he and wife Sue had decided to run the event to raise money for something which hadn't received enough funding in the past.
"If you look at the research, cancer research hasn't come a long way in its history so we wanted to do what we could to support it," he said.
"It was a lot of work but we've had really positive feedback and lots of generous support from local businesses.
"Now we're hoping to make it an annual event."
