Committee member Danny Moynihan said Christmas could be a hard time financially for people, especially those already struggling.
So the community is banding together to lend a hand.
The annual appeal is hoping to raise between $14,000 and $15,000 to provide food vouchers and toys to those in need.
Last year the XCA helped more than 500 people, with even more families expected to apply again this year.
"Without the Daylesford Food Bank, the committee needs to raise even more funds to go towards food vouchers," Mr Moynihan said.
"But I have a feeling we will make it and the ball is already rolling."
The Rotary Club has donated $2000 and St Vincent De Paul Society has promised $4000 worth of food vouchers.
Gifts can be dropped off at Daylesford Community House, Daylesford Community Op-Shop, or Daylesford Bendigo Community Bank.
There are also tins around the region, and a spinner at Daylesford Coles for people to donate. For more information call Daylesford CHC on 5321 6550
