Ballarat, Miners Rest and Clunes residents donated a handful of tools to the group after thieves broke into the shed almost a fortnight ago.
About $10,000 worth of power tools and donated goods were stolen from the former Lands Department building on Alliance Street on November 7.
Retired Clunes carpenter Dave Reynolds didn’t think twice about donating.
“I retired five years ago and I just donated what I had in my shed,” Mr Reynolds said.
“It was just a couple of electric tools, like an electric planer, welder and a four-inch angle grinder.”
Mr Reynolds said he was amazed by the community spirit.
“It’s about helping the community, not only the men, but the women as well,” he said.
“If you can help a community, you’re helping it grow.”
Thieves are also believed to have broken into a container holding materials for the Clunes Neighbourhood House.
Secretary John Armao thanked those who had donated tools.
“There would have been five or six people that brought in something,” Mr Armao said.
“I feel that it is one of the greatest kinds of community spirit you can get.”
Moorabool Criminal Investigation Unit said nobody had been charged in relation to the incident, as of Monday afternoon.
Police have advised anyone with more information to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
