In August, the Hepburn Shire allocated $22,000 towards the project and declared the Bullarto tennis court land be used as a recreation reserve.
Bullarto currently does not have picnic tables, toilets or barbeque facilities open for public use.
But this will soon change.
"The reserve will provide a much needed focal point for community members and visitors," Bullarto planning committee member Naomi Botheras said.
The group is calling on residents to visit the site when attending this weekend's Bullarto Goat Festival at the local primary school.
The students will show off their goat herd at the festival, with members of the Central Highlands Goat Club also on hand to assist with husbandry information.
The festival, which will also include several goat milk products, will be held at 131 Bullarto South Road, Bullarto on October 26 from 10am to 3pm.
