Corker’s Creek follow Mr Gellatly’s previous two novels: Lake Brambruck and Golton Island.
The novel is set in the Wimmera region, where Mr Gellatly grew up.
It follows the story of Dr Rory Clark and his partner and paramedic Danny Adkin who become entangled in the lives of the residents of Corker’s Creek, a fictitious town.
As the story progresses the characters find themselves increasingly at odds with each other.
Mr Gellatly said the book touches upon a number of themes, including racial acceptance and acceptance of people with disabilities.
He said it focused on establishing a sense of what it’s like to live in a small country town.
‘‘Living in a small rural town is different to living in a city,’’ he said.
‘‘In the country everyone seems to know everyone business.
‘‘(In the book), given that Rory is a doctor and Danny a paramedic, they seem to know even more about the lives of the residents.’’
Mr Gellatly said he was passionate about the environment which is why all his novels are ebooks only.
‘‘In my earlier years I worried about the number of trees involved in the production of books,’’ he said.
‘‘Then technology came along and it changed everything.’’
Corker’s Creek will be released on October 27.
The three novels are published internationally through www.smashwords.com
