The Eureka Community Kindergartens-managed preschool applied for the $9968 grant to improve its wet area and storage facilities and to buy a new desktop computer.
Eureka chief executive officer Jo Guerts said the funding was a welcome addition to the community group's funds.
"It's really great, it means the fundraising efforts of all our parents can be used elsewhere," Ms Guerts said.
"We can now put that money into purchasing new equipment for the children because we won't need to spend that on fixing the building."
The grant was part of a state government $2.9 million funding round for children's services.
Minister for Children and Early Childhood development Wendy Lovell and Liberal candidate for Ripon Louise Staley joined Creswick families on Friday to make the announcement.
Ms Staley said the upgrades would help ensure Creswick & District Preschool could deliver the world class learning programs local children deserve.
“Victoria already leads the nation in early childhood education and care, and by improving early years facilities and infrastructure we are making Creswick and regional Victoria an even better place for families to raise their children,” Ms Staley said.
“Much of this investment will flow directly to families in rural and regional Victoria, enabling them to give their children the very best start in life.”
