HEPBURN has made the perfect start to its 2014 Central Highlands netball finals campaign after its A, B and C-grade teams all scored wins at the weekend.
The three teams have secured the week off before playing in a possible preliminary final.
The A-grade team won through to the preliminary final after a tough battle with Waubra on Sunday.
It is the sixth year in a row Hepburn has scored the week off in the second week of finals.
Despite trailing by a goal heading into the final quarter of the game, Hepburn went on to win 48-44.
Springbank has not lost a game in the past two years, with its winning ways continuing in its qualifying final, where it defeated Learmonth.
The final score was 37-23.
In other A-grade finals, Dunnstown defeated Bungaree 48-35 and Skipton won against Ballan 47-43 in the two elimination finals.
Hepburn’s B-grade team defeated Learmonth 25-19 in its second qualifying final.
The C-grade team, which ended the regular season on top of the ladder, defeated Buninyong in a thrilling first qualifying final.
The final score was 35-34 in favour of Hepburn.
In the second week of finals, Newlyn’s 13-and-under team will play against Gordon at Learmonth on Saturday at 9.30am.
Newlyn and Clunes’ 15-and-under team will play against each other at 10.30am, while the Creswick 17-and-under team will play against Gordon at 11.30am.
On Sunday, Creswick’s 13-and-under team will play against Carngham-Linton at Bungaree on Sunday at 9.30am.
