MEMBERS of the Creswick Men’s Shed can now feel a little more at ease should an emergency arise.
Thanks to fund-raising activities by men’s shed participants and Belinda Hitchman — the co-ordinator for 2013 who worked on the funding applications for the group — the shed now has a Philips HeartStart defibrillator.
Clinical support nurse Carissa Strawhorn recently showed members how to use this much-needed device.
Men’s shed co-ordinator John Quinlan said: ‘‘Thanks to both Hepburn Shire Council and the Bendigo Bank Creswick and District Community Branch — their contributions have enabled the shed to be a much safer place as a result.
‘‘Hopefully we won’t need to use it, however if we did, we all feel much more confident about it.’’
