The Nationals Member for Western Victoria, David O'Brien, has congratulated the Friends of the Kingston Avenue of Honour for their dedication after securing funding to restore the avenue.

"I had the pleasure of meeting the group earlier this year at a community BBQ and their enthusiasm will result in the preservation of this significant community asset," Mr O'Brien said.
"Their success in gaining state funding will help restore the Kingston Avenue of Honour, which marks the service and sacrifice of World War I veterans in the local community."
The 285 Dutch elm trees are listed on the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) Register of Significant Trees of Victoria.
The latest round of the state government's Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour grants for 2014 will provide $20,000 support for the restoration, to be auspiced by the Hepburn Shire Council.
More than 430 local war memorials and honour rolls across Victoria have been provided with funds to restore avenues of honours. "This year, the Victorian Government is pleased to include the Avenues of Honour in this program for the first time.
"We have also increased the maximum grant available to $20,000, up from $10,000 last year."
The funds wil be used for aboral work on the avenue. FFAH secretary Sue Scott said.
