Members of the playgroup celebrated the opening with cups of tea on the cubby’s veranda.
After more than 12 months of planning and fund-raising the cubby house was opened, thanks to grants from the Hepburn Shire Council.
Clunes Playgroup secretary Ruth Kinnersly said the group had received support from the Creswick Lions Club and the shire, as well as their own fund-raisers.
“We’ve been busy planning for more than a year,” she said.
“We had about five or six families come along and assemble it. They did the garden, as well as the soft fall play area.”
Ms Kinnersly said the children had already made the most of the new play area.
“They’ve loved it – making cuppas and playing in it. It will be great in the winter to get out of the wind.”
The cubby house was officially opened with a thank-you day at the end of October.?
