THE Porters Industries Corporate Challenge Grand Final was played last Wednesday night with Trident Group taking out the men's title and Porter Plant taking the mixed.
The men's match was played between Trident Group and Gull and Co with Trident Group taking the match three sets to one.
David Hay and Andrew Seamons of Gull and Co got their side off to the best possible start defeating the Lyle Brothers, Jason and Shaun 9-7.
Trident Group bounced back to take the next two sets convincingly mainly due to the solid form of Andrew Glover and Shaun Lyle.
It looked all but over for the Gull and Co men with Trident Group up by six games with just one set remaining.
Gull and Co's Seamons and Paul Burke gave their glimmer of hope with a 7-3 lead, but Trident Group wasn't done with just yet.
Jason Lyle and Darren Barnett came from behind to win the set 9-7 to give their side the title.
The mixed competition final was played between Porter Plant and Roche Bricklaying with Porter Plant also winning the match three sets to one.
Porter Plants Colin Mciver and Tim Porter got off to a great start defeating Chris Eckel and Mick Roche 9-5.
The ladies set was very close with Porter Plants Shirley Mciver and Tracy Beaston just winning in a tie break against Michelle Roche and Rachel White. Going into the mixed sets it was Porter plant in control by five games. RESULTS
