SMEATON is the Mt Prospect Tennis Association A-grade premier for the fourth consecutive time.
Lawrence gave the grand final a shake at Creswick on Saturday, but Smeaton triumphed by nine games, 5-59 to 4-50.
The Lawrence men made a flyer, taking out all three sets to set up a 10-game lead as John Kinnersly and Kevin Haintz hit form.
Smeaton's women were determined to get back into the match and did so by performing their own clean sweep.
This gave Smeaton a three-game lead going into the mixed doubles.
Going into the third mix, it was Smeaton by six games. However, James Maher and Bec Lovett proved too strong for Kinnersly and Larelle Holloway 8-5 to secure the pennant premiership.
In A1, Kingston Red took out the title over Invermay by 15 games.
Kingston lost just one set for the day, but the difference in games showed that there was not a lot in many matches.
Creswick is the A2 premier, with Kellie Dunn and Casey Booth standing out.
