ROUND two continued with the match of the round being played between Smeaton and St Augustines Gold, with St Augustines Gold going down by the narrowest of margins for the second week in a row.
The men of Smeaton got them off to a handy lead winning two out of three of the men's matches. This was due to the consistency of Rod Male winning both his sets. There was good resistance shown by St Augustines' Russell Edwards winning one of his two tiebreakers.
The Saints Gold women were determined to get back into the match winning two of the three women's sets. Lisa Bennie showing great form to win both her matches and levelling the match for St Augustines.
After two mixed sets the scores were still level. Smeatons Rod Male and Rhiannan Smyth prevailed in the final set 8-3 to defeat Saints Gold by five games.
In other A grade matches the young Kingston Blue side proved too strong for St Augustines Silver, Lawrence were too consistent for Kingston Black winning six sets to three while Mt Prospect continued their winning form defeating Kingston White.
The highlight match in A1 was between Kingston Black and Mt Prospect, with Mt Prospect just winning by 4 games. Matt Stevens of Mt Prospect was solid all day winning his three sets.
In A3, St Augustines Reds Renee Mckenzie and Lesley Stuart were stand-out players with a good win over Kingston Blue.
