Numbers down, but action tight in Daylesford junior tennis

19 Jan, 2010 12:59 PM
THE number of Daylesford junior tennis players was depleted on Saturday due to others being away at the beach and on holidays.

With one exception, the competition was extremely even.

In section one Sam Behrens, with 14-4, led the field in, with Tom Micklewright-Hill (11-7) second, just edging out the duo of Bear Hackenberger and Will Parentich, who each scored 10-8. Nick Vanzetta with 9-9 was fifth.

In section two a triple dead-heat eventuated with Maya Milosh winning due to her higher ranking, over Sam Hitchman and Aiden Mayger.

All players scored 7-5. Play continues this Saturday, and rostered parents are reminded to attend.
