THE match of the round in the Mt Prospect Tennis Association A Grade pennant was between Kingston Blue and Kingston White, with Kingston Blue going down fighting.
The men for Kingston White had the upper hand over their counterparts with Mick Roach showing early form, winning both men's sets.
Kingston Blues' Jason Lyle didn't make it easy for the Kingston White men, snatching one of the men's and going down in the second men's in a tie break.
The Kingston Blue women were determined to increase their lead. They took two of the three women's sets, mainly thanks to the solid play of Michelle Roach.
Going into the third mix, St Augustines was up by seven games.
Dean Pidgeon and Rachel White proved too strong, defeating Lyle and Fiona Miles 8 - 5, to take the victory by 10 games.
In other A-Grade matches, Smeaton played solid tennis to defeat Lawrence, Kingston Black were too strong for Dean winning by 10 games and Mt Prospect were too consistent for St Augustines Gold.
The highlight match in A1 was between Kingston Red and Mt Prospect with Kingston Red winning by just four games.
This was due to Louise Lindsay and Leanne Hughes playing well to win their three sets.
Kingston Gold had to work hard in A3 to defeat St Augustines Red by 16 games. Alana Hepworth and Courtney Lovett were very strong for Gold both winning their three sets for the day.
