Swiss Italian Festa of sport in Daylesford

THE Hepburn Springs Swiss Italian Festa will again play host to a number of sporting events later this month.

The action gets underway at the Daylesford Town Hall on Friday, October 16 where teams will play boccia with plenty of enthusiasm.

Boccia is a Paralympic sport developed from the game of bocce and is played indoors with small leather balls. Entry is free.

The Festa soccer tournament "Giovani Calcisti in Torneo'' will be played on the lush green grass at Cricket Willow on Saturday, October 17 under the guidance of the Daylesford and Hepburn United Soccer Club.

Registrations for seven-a-side teams are to be submitted to Cricket Willow before the event. There will be three divisions (Prep-Gr3, Gr4-Gr6, Yr7-Yr9) and entry is by gold coin donation.

Open to registered riders, "Ciclismo Giro Del Distretto'' is a handicap event coordinated by the Ballarat/Sebastopol Cycling Club and takes in 60km of undulating countryside. The event will commence outside Old Hepburn Hotel at 10am on Sunday, October 18 and entries must be submitted

to Ballarat/Sebastopol Cycling Club by Thursday October 15. Entry is $10.

The annual Festa Family Bocce tournament will be played at Cricket Willow on Sunday, October 18. Teams of four players will compete for the prized trophy. Registrations will be taken on the day and entry is free.

A free shuttle bus to and from Cricket Willow will stop at bus stops in Hepburn Springs during the weekends of the festa. For further details of the festa sporting events please contact Adrian Tinetti on 0405 834 960 or info@cricketwillow.com.au
