Daylesford Darts WEEK five saw wins to RSL, Nomads and Aardvarks with Renegades having the bye.
RSL defeated Kettles 6 to 5.
Nomads defeated Savoia 7 to 4. High scores: Tom 125, Steve Cox 100 & 121, Rikki Cox 138, Jason Hand 140, Darren Hand 100, Rob Hand 100 & 108 peg in.
Aardvarks defeated Daylesford 6 to 5. High scores: Ed Banks 106 & 102, Roger Perry 114, Pez 103, David Tonna 121.

Bushwalking
ONCE again the weather was kind to us as we rambled through the forest around Currie's Hill last week. It is encouraging to see our numbers maintained at a consistent 20 each week. Our next walk is in the Slatey Creek mining area, as usual starting from outside the courthouse
at 9am.

AUGUST 17 played stroke. Winner was Alf Benham on 69-16-73 with Clayton Fleming runner-up on 106-32-74.
Trentham Golf
A TOTAL of 40 players braved the elements for Saturday's stableford and there were some surprisingly good scores. Peter Martin 42 won from Graeme Osborne 41 and David Head 40. Like his mighty Cats, Max Hinneberg did just enough to comfortably win B grade with 38. Other good
scores were R Campbell 38 and on 37 D Simmonds, S Thompson and T Danks. Nearest the pins: T Mossop, K Sheedy, T Danks and D Head.
The mid-week event had the scores reversed, Ken Anders 39 won A grade, while the outstanding score was in B grade where Kevin Sheedy came in with 42.
Next best: J Baczynski 39, T Spink 37 and G Osborne 37. Nearest the pins: K Anders, B Holmes and the other two went to C Wilson. Next Saturday both men and women will have a stroke.
Hepburn Women's Golf
NEW member Joy Nunn won her first Monthly Medal sponsored by Upstate Living with an excellent score of 99-35-64. Joy won from Julie Guiney and Fiona Marshall 72. Julie Guiney won the Women's Golf Victoria Silver Spoon 72 from Gale Orford 76 and Lyn Thomas 77. A-grade winner
was Fiona Marshall 72 from Jenny Cronin and Lyn Joyce 75. Today is captain versus vice-captain stableford. August 27 is Guest Day Stableford 4BBB.
Hepburn Springs Golf
SATURDAY was the annual Box Hill Challenge, played in cold conditions on a very we course. Home-ground advantage didn't help the locals who went down to Box Hill 266 points to 252 points.
Best scores: Jeff Smith (Box Hill) 40 points , David Rourke (Box Hill) and Peter Pedretti 39, Terry Douge (Box Hill), Tom Pedretti and Bruce Cahoon 38 and Barry Jenner and Andy Yanner 37. Nearest the pin on the 15th went to John Scarffe while Andy Yanner eagled the 10th.
Thursday's 13-hole stableford was cancelled due to rain. Entry forms are now available for the club's annual tournament to be held from September 17 to September 21st.
Next Saturday's competition will be stroke.

SPRING Season 2008 started last Wednesday. With most players attired in their beanies, scarves and gloves, it did not take long before it all came off and competition started in earnest. Welcome to newcomers Evette Breitzke and Robert Scott.

Netball
DUNOLLY cruised home over Trentham in the lead-up to finals and will be tough contenders taking the game right up to premiership favorites Harcourt a fortnight ago.
The Trentham under-17 team has been the big mover in the last few weeks and now sits in fourth position over Avoca.
Volleyball
ROUND 16 saw the match of the competition when Kyneton defeated Choppers 28/26,25/19,28/26. Both teams displayed brilliant attacking volleyball with every point being fought tooth and nail. Sensational play by all concerned. Well done.
Globbogym def Joans of ARC 3 sets love with Keiran and Mark Prendergast, Adam and David Tonna, Luda Plotnikova and Gabielle Prendergast playing great games.
The Dogs caused the shock of the round when they defeated ladder leader Vipers 2 sets to 1 with the whole team contributing to the win.
District United defeated Kittty Kats with Mark Dineen, Jason Greiner, Stephanie Coleiro, Emma Wells and Nicola Stephens the best players.
Glenlyon CFA defeated Benchwarmers with Andrew Cooper, Brian Kew and Brenton Rogers the best. Spartans defeated ARC-E-Types on forfeit.
Pigeons
SATURDAY'S race from Murray Bridge, South Australia, of about 500 km, was delayed due to bad weather.
Birds for the Main Race and Raffle Race were released at 7.45am on Sunday into light S/SW winds. Followed by 60 Breeders Plate Birds at 8.30am.
Brian Meeney from Ballarat West Club won the combine with velocity of 1102.02. The best Daylesford bird, owned by Ian Robinson finished sixth. However, Ian's bird was second in the raffle race.
In the Breeders Plate Ian Jones from Wendouree City Club was first velocity 1118.91, with Jim Stephenson just out of the money finishing 11th, velocity 1063.36
