Open day at the Daylesford ARC

DAYLESFORD'S ARC will hold its second annual community open day on Saturday, February 7.

The indoor recreation centre will hosting elite sporting teams including the Ballarat Miners and Bendigo Braves, along with family entertainment.

Manager Tim Walshe said the open day would be a "great event for the whole community including a barbecue, jumping castle, competitions and games with prizes and giveaways - along with some top-level sporting action rarely seen in Daylesford".

"The day will start with a volleyball games between the Riddells Creek and the best of Daylesford's local talent, from noon the Ballarat Pride netball team will take on fellow state league netball team the UV Lightning with Hepburn local Libby Purtell taking the court for the Pride.

"The main event for the day will once again be the game between fierce SEABL rivals, the Ballarat Miners and the Bendigo Braves.

"It is a real coup for the ARC and the Daylesford community to once again be able to get these two teams playing at the here in Daylesford.

"This is a day for not only Daylesford but the region, with prizes and giveaways through out the day the ARC will show it is a great family destination for sport and leisure."
