THE footy finals are barely over but already the Daylesford Netball Football Club's rooms are going through their ritual transformation - ready to display culinary delights.
Footy equipment and benches disappear as the clubrooms become a stage for the Daylesford Agricultural Show - and the smell of sweat and massage oil is replaced by oven-baked cakes and scones.
The clubrooms were originally built by the Daylesford and District Agricultural Society, which uses the rooms for cooking and craft displays at its annual show next month.
Daylesford Football Netball Club secretary Maree Phypers said a temporary wall was pulled down every year in the gymnasium to open up the room with the club's gym equipment stored in a nearby shed.
"All benches around the walls need to be taken off with a drill and the boards are left so they can reinstall them for next year," she said.
"We generally have until the end of September to have it all emptied out, cleaned and painted."
Ms Phypers said the yearly dismantling of the club rooms had revealed the ailing state of the building.
"We've started up a group to get new club rooms," she said.
"We've approached the council about a grant and are looking at ways of raising funds to get a new facility."
