KORWEINGUBOORA scraped home in an enthralling battle in the final of the Daylesford and District Cricket Association at Victoria Park at the weekend.
The unbeaten team won a closely fought and low-scoring grand final over Hepburn playing 90 overs-a-side in sunny conditions on Saturday and Sunday.
Hepburn batted first and was off to a good start before losing some quick wickets to finish on 137 after 80 overs.
Lindsay Olver and Mick Courtot contributed with the bat making 41 runs and 38 runs respectively.
Korweinguboora's main wicket takers Luke Adams, 4-37, and Troy Slater, 3-45, stopped Hepburn's batsmen in their tracks.
Korweinguboora was 5-112 at the close of play on the first day which saw 103 overs bowled.
Korweinguboora resumed its first innings on Sunday and was dismissed for 150 with Luke Adams on 64 not out. Chris Adams made 39 runs and was the only other batsman to get among the runs.
Stars with the ball were Hepburn bowlers Lindsay Olver taking 6-50 and Wayne Robinson taking 4/43.
Hepburn went for a second hit, declaring at 7-142 which set Korweinguboora a target of 130 runs for an outright victory.

Luke Adams took 4/56 for Korweinguboora.
Korweinguboora reached the target with the loss of three wickets. Steve Cowan made 35 runs, Kevin Mobbs 35 runs and Chris Adams 31 not out seeing them to victory with 3-135.
Lindsay Olver took the three wickets to fell finishing with 3-43.
Luke Adams from Korweinguboora was named best-player winning the Harry Dwan medal for his performance.
Korweinguboora captain and coach Steve Cowan said the weekend's win was a team effort.
"We were surprised to go through the season unbeaten," he said.
Cowan said Chris Adams made a series of 30 runs throughout the season which helped put the team above the rest.
He said the grand final was led by Luke Adams' individual performance.
Cowan said the team had a few young players including a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old.
"We worked hard for runs, our batting wasn't that great," he said.
"It was a low-scoring game because of the lush grass."
Cowan said the team celebrated with a few drinks at Korweinguboora after claiming victory.
The DDCA will hold its presentation night at the Daylesford Royal Hotel this Friday at 7pm.
