Falcons win over Tigers in Daylesford table tennis finals

01 Dec, 2009 12:45 PM
THE Tigers and Falcons brought their A game to the Daylesford table tennis finals last Wednesday night.

Falcons had a good start with a few wins. Clawing their way back, the Tigers forced it all to come down to the final singles game.

Teck won the final game, which helped his team the Falcons to a finals win 6 to 5.

The Mustangs (David Yoxall, Tania Bull and Ruben Holland) won the B-grade team championship for the spring season with seven wins beating The Barracudas (five wins) followed by The Vipers (three) and The Stingrays (three).

David's fine leadership also won him the Individual Aggregate Trophy with 19 wins, leading Darren Young (17) and Jesse Barns (16).

Special mention must be made of the big improvers in the junior ranks: Jesse Barns took out the Junior Individual Trophy; Ruben Holland, nine, beat many much older players; and Tim Bull should be elevated to A grade next year.
