IN the six years since Daylesford last played Castlemaine there were concerns the shield may have stuck to Castlemaine's clubroom walls.
But on Friday, Daylesford wrestled it back by just two rubbers.

Four teams competed at this event:
Daylesford team one, comprising F. Brunt, T. Hofman and A. Verplak defeated Castlemaine team one ( P. Dessens, A. J, P. Bower) 8-3.
Daylesford team two, comprising E. Jarlaud, M. Hofman and H. Fix lost to Castlemaine team two ( P. Dessens, R. Mapson, J. Dowler) 3-8.
Daylesford team three, comprising P. Reeves, G. Stockfeld and A. Brown defeated Castlemaine team three (A. Dunne, A. Every, D. Ott) 10-1.
Daylesford team four, comprising K. Stockfeld, D. Gleeson and M. Reeves lost to Castlemaine team four (A. J, J. Dowler, A. Dunne) 2-9.
Adding up the rubbers at the end of the night, Castlemaine got 21 and Daylesford 23.
