DAYLESFORD Football Club is set for a new beginning after officially announcing it will play in the Central Highlands Football League next season.
The club's members showed overwhelming support for the club to change from the Ballarat Football League to the CHFL at a meeting and vote at Victoria Park last week.
Daylesford president John Goullet said 155 members voted for Daylesford to enter the CHFL while three stood against it.
"It was a huge success for the club," Mr Goullet said.
Mr Goullet had previously warned that the club could fold if it did not get al least 75 per cent support in the vote.
Daylesford made an agreement with Bungaree that it would change its colours to avoid a colour clash in return for Bungaree's vote last month.
"I can't say yet what the colours will be, but we are looking at red, white and blue - similar to the Western Bulldogs," he said.
Mr Goullet said the club is searching for a new coach.
He said the player list is excellent and all players were looking forward to playing in the CHFL.
The club will play its first game against Learmonth in Learmonth on Sunday, April 9.
Mr Goullet said the club urgently needs community members to register for volunteer work with the club.
