THE ARC volleyball competition has produced three more state volleyball players.
The successful trio follow the recent selection of Glenlyon's Sophie Shewell in the state under-15 girls' team.
Coach Colin Priest said Hepburn resident Henry Taubert-Gallagher had been selected in the state under-17 boys' squad.
"Henry, a Ballarat Grammar student, plays for Choppers in the open volleyball division and has shown outstanding improvement in the three months he has been playing the game," Mr Priest said.
"He has shown total commitment to learning the skills of the game and has represented Daylesford in a junior volleyball tournament in Bendigo."
Mr Priest said Alexey Korinfsky, a Kyneton Secondary College student, had been selected in the state under-19 team and played for top of the ladder team Volleykings in the ARC's open division.
"Alexey was selected in the state under-17 squad last year but suffered an ankle injury that stopped him from playing in the national championships in 2008.
"He is a hard-working and dedicated student of the game who deserves his selection in the state team and has also represented Daylesford at various junior tournaments."
Mr Priest said Andre Bricknell had been selected in the state under-19 squad and also played for Choppers in the open division at the ARC.
The Daylesford Secondary College student is also a member of the school volleyball team that will play off for the Western Zone championships in April.
"Andre has been playing volleyball for about 18 months and has also represented Daylesford in junior tournaments with great success," Mr Priest said.
"All three players attended state selection trials in February at the State Volleyball Centre in Dandenong and competed against some 60 players in each division to gain selection.
"They have attended the first training camp in Ballarat on March 14 and 15 with further camps in Mildura, Bendigo and Horsham to come.
"If selected in the final team they will play in the National Junior Championships in Queensland from 6 to 11 July 2009."
The trio trains under Mr Priest and also attended elite training with state under-19 women's coach Brian Holding in Ballarat.
