Aspiring golfers take to the course

23 May, 2006 12:16 PM
CHILDREN are getting a head start in golf at Hepburn Springs Golf Club.

A junior golf program run by Shane Nevill and volunteers gets the children, aged from six years, on the 18-hole golf course.

"It encourages children to be involved in sport and teaches them about golf," Mr Nevill said.

Participant Tim Bull said he not only used his head to think during the program, but the power and force of his upper body.

The program also gives the children a chance to join their friends for general play and fun.

A generous donor presented the junior golfers with T-shirts to wear while playing.

The free junior golf program is held every Wednesday at 4.30pm.
