A thrilling showdown

THE twilight cricket competition at Cricket Willow saw a thrilling semi-final between Muckleford Wanderers and Castlemaine.

Winning the toss, Muckleford Wanderers captain Steven Oliver sent Castlemaine into bat first.

Of eight ball overs, Castlemaine amassed the highest ever limited over score at Cricket Willow, being 166.

Jamie Allen scored a brilliant 91 with eight sixes.

All Muckleford Wanderers bowlers toiled against the odds with Steven Oliver and Julian Millichamp showing their experience.

Muckleford Wanderers went from one wicket for one run to amass an incredible 176.

Steven Oliver hit 100 runs out of the first 106 scored.

Oliver scored the first century in the twilight competition, his side gaining a spot in the grand final. eMuckleford Wanderers will play the Central Highlands Mint 8 on Wednesday, December 7.

A bat making tour will proceed the game at 5pm.

All spectators are welcome.

The match is scheduled to start at 6pm.
