24 Mar, 2009 11:42 AM
TRENTHAM Bowling Club won two men's pennant divisions at the Central Highlands Bowling Association Grand Finals held at Kyneton Bowling Club on March 21.

In the second division, competing on four rinks, they defeated Melton Gold 121 to 73 and in fourth division, competing on two rinks, they defeated Romsey 63 to 40.

The Trentham teams put on a magnificient display of lawn bowling to win on all six rinks.

The Trentham club was started in 1962 and before last Saturday had won one men's grand final, which was division two in the 2001-2002 pennant season.

The double victory on Saturday was an exceptional performance described by club president Roy Capener as "one of the best experiences of his life".

The club is looking for more bowlers, both men and women, to join it for the next pennant season.
