Trentham junior golf clinics well received

23 Sep, 2008 01:30 PM
THE Trentham golf club's junior development program wrapped up its term three clinics on Saturday September 13.

Ben Sweeney of Stuart Appleby Junior Golf Victoria instructed 20 beginners with full swing, chipping and putting skills, while six more advanced juniors played a nine-hole competition.

The program has proven popular with junior golfers who were enthusiastic about the activities and developing their golfing skills.

There were prizes awarded and a free barbeque for juniors, parents and helpers after the morning activities.

All juniors taking part received a golf ball, while the six juniors who completed the program, and are now members of the Trentham golf club, received club hats.

The winner of the nine-hole competition, Duncan Simmonds, received a package from Stuart Appleby Junior Golf, including a polo shirt, cap and one-year's membership.

The program, funded by the Victoria Golf Foundation, resumes at Trentham with the beginning of school's term four.
