Murray to Moyne team on track

11 Dec, 2007 09:45 AM
DAYLESFORD'S Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay team will launch its 2008 campaign this week.

The event launch, tomorrow at Daylesford Hospital, will include a cheque presentation to Hepburn Health Services at 6pm.

The 2007 team raised $11,000.

The Murray to Moyne is a 24-hour, 520km team cycle relay held annually in April.

Group co-ordinator Winston Silbereisen said the Daylesford Wheel Suckers had been riding for 15 years.

"It's a great experience everyone enjoys camaraderie," Silbereisen said.

He said the group was on the hunt for new members.

"I would encourage people to consider joining for the ride, we are in need of some members.

"You have to do a bit if training. But that's a fun way of getting fit.

"We've had people that have no experience in riding in groups and they've got along pretty well," Silbereisen said.

Money is raised through the participants' personal sponsors.

To inquire about joining the team phone Mr Silbereisen on 53481048 or Greg Malcher on 5348 2536.
