Cycle team needs help

13 Feb, 2007 11:05 AM
DAYLESFORD'S Murray to Moyne Bicycle Relay team is calling for riders and support crew to make its 16th year a success.

Long-time participant Winston Silbereisen said the team was struggling with numbers.

He said there were six definite riders, but up to 12 were needed, with a further eight people needed for the support crew.

Since forming in 1992, the team has raised more than $130,000 for the Daylesford Hospital.

The relay from Echuca to Port Fairy is 520km and will be held on March 24 and 25.

Mr Silbereisen encouraged people to jump on their bikes for the cause.

"It's a fun weekend. It's good for fun and fitness. The

ecamaraderie is terrific," he said.

Anyone wishing to participate can call Winston Silbereisen on 5348 1048, Greg Malcher on 5348 2536 or Rob Hand on 5348 2899.

*A trivia night will be held at the Daylesford Primary School gym on Friday, March 16, at 7.30pm to help raise vital funds for the cause. All welcome.
