DAYLESFORD has continued its percentage boosting start to the Bendigo Bank Central Highlands Football League season with a 133-point victory over Clunes on Saturday.
The Magpies were chasing their tail all afternoon and only managed to register one point for the game with 20 seconds remaining in the last quarter.
The Bulldogs did as they pleased, with the final score 20.14 (134) to 0.1 (1).
It was clear Clunes missed the presence of full-forward Jay Guthrie, while Daylesford had plenty of goal-kickers lining up, including Jake Pring and David Thompson with four majors each.
The game appeared to be a training drill at times, with Daylesford sharing the ball around.
Trent Nesbitt ran the ball out of defence sharply, Scott Winduss dominated in the ruck and the strong midfield nucleus including Tim and Michael Davis moved the ball with ease.
One negative to come out of the game was the report of Michael Davis for abusing an umpire.
Trying hard for Clunes were James Sewell and Chris McLennan.
The Bulldogs look set to continue their big wins for a while yet, but their real test will come in the eighth round against Hepburn.
Clunes, meanwhile, faces Dunnstown, which is proving it can push most sides to their limits.
