DAYLESFORD and Hepburn soccer players have won a host of end-of-season awards at the Ballarat Soccer Leagues Awards, held last weekend.
The night was stolen by the Daylesford Saints star striker Dylan Nulty who won the Reserves League's best and fairest award with 15 votes.
Young gun Dylan had an excellent year with the Saints and his hard work and persistence was rewarded with the big prize.
Dylan won the award with a late run of votes and was equal first with a player from VicPark Red.
Also polling well in the best and fairest was fancy midfielder Jack Nulty, who missed many games through injury. He finished with 12 votes.
Tobias Schmidt, Dave Ramage, Ivan Carter, Nick Jansen, Stuart Bates, Daniel Trotter and Toneka Costa also scored well in the best-and-fairest voting.
Overall, it was an honour for Saints players to poll so well and showed the great young talent at the club.
Jack and Dylan Nulty also finished equal leading scorers for the league, with 13 goals apiece.
The two star players helped the Saints get to their first finals series in three years.
The return of the Nulty brothers from Castlemaine has been a huge bonus for the Saints this season, as well as the return of Tobias Schmidt, Toneka Costa, Dwight Beare, Daniel Trotter and Nick Jansen from the Bendigo League.
The Saints had a difficult season in the previous year, finishing on the bottom of the ladder. However, the club rebounded this season to finish fourth and play in the finals series in admirable style.
With so many good new recruits, such as Kym Riley and Stuart Bates, the Saints are sure to be a strong team for the next season.
The team starts pre-season early in the new year with boot camp.
The Saints will be looking to field a few more junior teams next season and is asking interested parties to contact the club to register interest and make next season a memorable one for the Saints.
