THE DAYLESFORD Saints continued their poor recent form with a painful loss against VicPark Blue on Sunday.
The Saints were again missing defenders Stuart Bates and Dwight Beare.
The game got off to a dreadful start for Daylesford, with VicPark scoring in the first 10 minutes.
The Saints clawed their way back with battling midfielder Jack Nulty sneaking two quick classy goals.
The midfield was starting to function, with Tobias Schmidt, Dylan Nulty and Hudson Beare starting to connect with telepathic-like passes.
Hudson eventually scored a third goal for the Saints, giving them a three-to-one lead at half time.
Daylesford's defence was holding up brilliantly, with Daniel Trotter, Wayne Devlin and Steve Jenner doing well.
The second half, however, was a different story and was plagued by some terrible teamwork.
VicPark walked through two quick goals to make the score three-all.
Discipline was lacking and panic crept into the Saints' game, enabling VicPark to score its fourth goal and take a four-to-three lead.
The Saints continued to push for goals but were unable to find the target in difficult conditions.
The lack of training, teamwork and discipline was prominent in the Saints second half. The defence opened up like a sieve and the attack blundered chance after chance.
But it was not lack of determination that lost the game, more lack of communication and the right attitude to win.
Nick Jansen was left high and dry on far too many occasions and did well to save the Saints further embarrassment.
Score: 4-3 to VicPark Blue
Goals: Jack Nulty 2, Hudson Beare 1
Best: Hudson Beare, Toneka Costa, Jack Nulty, Wayne Devlin, Daniel Trotter
