Trivia night raises $5000 to purchase equipment for the Daylesford Hospital

31 Mar, 2009 11:25 AM
THE Murray-Moyne cycle relay team ran a successful Trivia/Auction night last Friday night at the Daylesford Primary School gym.

About 80 people attended the night and proved to be a generous crowd.

More than $5000 was raised for the team which cycles from Echuca to Port Fairy this weekend over 24 hours.

Ten of the team's 12 riders were in attendance on the night as well, as several of the teams eight support crew.

The team is doing the ride for the 17th consecutive year and is known as the Daylesford Wheelsuckers.

The team said it appreciated the many individuals and businesses in the area that supported it with many "fantastic auction items".

Some of the items donated were worth up to $500.

Team members will be looking for individual sponsorship this week and donations are most welcome.

All money raised goes to purchase equipment for the Daylesford Hospital.

The team is hoping for tail winds and 20-degree weather this weekend.
