THE Daylesford junior tennis beginners' group saw both Sam Hitchman and Aiden Mayger show that they are ready to join the section players, while new player Jude Smith was pleased to see Lewis back from his European adventure coaching the group.
Section three was a close competition with Maya Milosh wining 10/6 followed by Harrison Nevill and Zoe Ingham both on 9/7.
Section two had first-time player Emlyn Nettleton leading the way on 12/4 followed by Jovan Milosh, 11/5, who jumped four places on the ladder to threaten section one.
As parents pondered the meaning of life, section-one players enjoyed the freedom only managing to complete three sets.
Sam Beharns won the section and moved to the top of the ladder 12/6 from Finn Anscombe 11/7.
Junior tennis has finished for the Christmas break and will resume on January 9, 2010.
