IT'S the 20 minute-mark of the second quarter and Hepburn's Dan O'Halloran blind-turns out of a pack and spears the ball onto the chest of a leading Lee Cox.
Deep in the forward pocket in front of the clubrooms of the Laurie Sullivan Reserve, Cox kicks his sixth for the day and his 100th for the season.
The crowd ran onto the the field to celebrate, the first player to kick 100 goals in a season on two occasions for the Hepburn Football Club.
Cox went on to bag 10 goals for the day showcasing his marking ability but, as the countdown unfolded, Cox was about to show his unselfishness.
Taking a strong mark 40m out from goal on goal number 99, he fed off a handball to Jimmy Rodgers who was in a better position running towards goal.
This act typified the Hepburn's outlook for the afternoon against the second-placed Dunnstown.
On the receiving end of some savage beatings from Dunnstown since the inception of the CHFL in 1979, the Burras showed no mercy as they dished out a 117 points thrashing.
While Cox was followed by the crowd from goal square to goal square by the Hepburn supporters, it was Daniel Smith who steered the Burras to victory.
Smith used his big frame to advantage, allowing the James brothers, O'Halloran and Anthony Baker to send the ball deep into Hepburn's forward zone.
Baker with four goals, took some sensational hangers, as did Rodgers, who at one stage, plucked the ball out of the sky one handed as if it was an Easter egg.
In a near-perfect exhibition against quality opposition, Hepburn showed its hunger by piling on seven last-quarter goals to put the result beyond doubt.
But, at the defensive end, Brendan Sheppherd was unstoppable and Leigh Santurini put the brakes on the dangerous Auchettl.
Under the blue winter skies, coach Shane Roberstson, would have been pleased to beat such a respected opponent by a big margin and this week will be thinking about the daunting task of travelling to Waubra.
