THE Daylesford reserves notched up their first win of the season, beating Waubra by nine points.
After a blistering start and a fantastic opening quarter of footy from Chris Mobbs, Daylesford opened up an early advantage and it looked like the game could become a blowout.
Waubra battled on however, and by three quarter time they had it back within just eight points. A solid last quarter particularly from the backline combination of Chris Adams and Kevin Mobbs prevented Waubra from pinching a win.
Great four quarter performances from Nick Cronin, Jack Savige and Matthew O'Brien ensured that the young Bulldogs were able to hang on in the wet conditions, which should prove to be a good stepping stone going into next week when they take on a strong Bungaree outfit.
Final score: Daylesford: 7.7.49 def Waubra: 5.10.40. Best: K.Mobbs, Savige, Cronin, C.Adams, O'Brien, C.Mobbs. Goals: Thompson 3, Brereton, Carman, Broadway, C.Mobbs.
