DAYLESFORD "kept their eyes on the ball" in the club's first Central Highlands Central Football League qualifying final showdown against Hepburn at Bungaree last Saturday.

The Bulldogs won the match by 10 points and will go into the second semi-final against top ladder holder Waubra at Learmonth this Saturday.

President Wayne Evans said he was impressed with the way Daylesford approached and played the game.

"Hepburn played well and didn't give us boys room to move," he said. "I don't think Daylesford were intimidated by Hepburn. They were pretty focussed."

He said Daylesford would go into the match against Waubra like any other game they've played this year.

DAYLESFORD player-coach Luke Adams has won the CHFL best and fairest award in the club's first year in the competition on Monday night.

Adams won the Geoff Taylor Medal with 29 votes from Clunes' Glenn Handley (24 votes) and Waubra's Danny Liston (21).
