CONDITIONS for the Daylesford Cup Trophies meeting last weekend were in complete contrast to the previous speedway event.
From slippery mud to dry and at times dusty driving, Bradley Newlan, car 02, moved from juniors to A Mods but suffered lots of mechanical problems and retired in the second heat.
Organisers look forward to seeing this guy back racing at his best on Boxing Day at the Boxing Day Bash.
The Street Stock class started with 11 cars and Phil Attwell, car 31 and Colin Ward, car 98 fought it out for the checked flag.
In the final, Phil was right on Colin's tail and looking at the checkered flag when disaster struck and he lost control, letting Alex Serafin, car 57, slip through for second and Daniel Kettles, car 107, third.
Also in the Street Stocks, Wally Hussey, car 202, from Dandenong made his debut in race driving to find he had to race both directions. Wally had an accident with car 22 (Cameron Barrie) in one of the heats.
Wally and the car managed to survive any major injuries and raced in the finals.
Nathan Dunn, car 43 from Bendigo, hit Troy Hose, car 99, from Rokewood to come off second best.
Jay Kolaritsch, car 10 V8s, lost control of his car and spun a few times during the day but managed to win the final.
Then he took Ian Frost's car 27 out in the B Mods to spin a few more times.
Colin Warner, car 14, had an accident in the B Mods and when he regained control of the car found himself facing his opponents.
Simon Gibbons from Trentham came to help driving Newlan's Tractor, pushing cars off the track.
The next race meeting will be the Boxing Day Bash.
