Daylesford reserves secure finals place

10 Aug, 2010 01:18 PM
THE Daylesford reserves have wrapped up a rare finals place after defeating a highly-rated Springbank team by six points at the weekend.

The win puts Daylesford a game inside the top six and, with a healthy percentage over the seventh-placed side Beaufort, it would be nigh on impossible to see them drop out with just one game to play.

Daylesford trailed by as much as three goals at one stage, but a spirited second-half fightback against the then third-placed Springbank sealed a very impressive victory.

Grant Boyd was sensational in the win, with his ferocious tackling and ball-winning ability becoming a real highlight of his game.

The big three in Tom Reeves, Nick Cronin and Luke Evans also worked tirelessly all day, with their experienced bodies proving to be a handful for the young Springbank midfield.

Daylesford faces Waubra at home next week.
