Daylesford Football Netball Club Best and Fairest Awards
LUKE and Jarrod Adams kept it all in the family, winning the seniors and reserves Daylesford Football Netball Club Best and Fairest Awards.
In his 12th season with the Bulldogs, Luke, a 34-year-old midfielder, held off the premiers best-on-ground player Scott Winduss to win a third club best-and-fairest award.
Jarrod, 30, shared the reserves award with Haydn Mobbs.
But, it was grand final goal-kicking hero Andrew Button who completed a treble, taking out the goal kicking, Most Consistent Player and Players Choice Awards.
In netball, Kyra Winduss joined Scott as a winner with the A grade award. Hollie Powell took out the B grade award.
In the first year of competition, Nicole Sullivan won C grade and Bonnie Winzar (17 and under).
Emily Heywood, the A grade goal shooter, was a deserved Club Person recipient while life memberships went to Wayne Evans, Bernie Jurcan, Joel Adams and Cade O'Brien.
Starting his illustrious career as an 11-year-old, Luke Adams, an arborist, was interstate on awards night. It was left to wife, Michelle, to phone her husband while children Hannah, four, and Jayden, six, were oblivious to all the excitement.
"It's a great thrill to win the award," said Adams, also a two-time winner of the CHFL Geoff Taylor Best and Fairest medal.
"But it's tough to compare and beat winning a second grand final in three years.
"The Bulldogs are a great team who never give in.
"I'm proud to be part of a winning culture and family club who give everything for their families, the Daylesford community and the town."
But it's not only Luke and Jarrod who share family time on the field with other brothers Joel, a member of the premiers' team and reserves coach and youngest Christopher in the reserves.
A 220-senior game player, Luke coached the Bulldogs for three years and in the club's debut CHFL season.
Now in a fourth CHFL season, the Bulldogs have never missed the finals series, losing a preliminary final in their first year before reaching three consecutive grand finals and winning two flags.
