A BRILLIANT second term in poor conditions has set up the Daylesford Bulldogs' second win of the season.
Playing against Waubra, at Daylesford, the Bulldogs played hard, uncompromising football and broke the game open in the second term.
They booted eight goals for the term, which made it difficult for Waubra to come back.
Daylesford flew out of the blocks, only taking a few seconds for them to register their first goal from Luke Beattie.
That, however, was the only joy they got for the first term, with Waubra kicking the only other goal for the quarter.
Then the floodgates opened.
An eight-goal quarter featuring two goals each from Beattie and Andrew Button seemingly put the result beyond doubt in the conditions.
The Daylesford midfield was just too good at the stoppages, rarely allowing a Waubra clearance and hitting up the forwards beautifully with lace-out passes.
At half-time the margin had blown out to 40 points.
Waubra was able to stem the flow in the second half and, as the ball became heavier,s goals were harder to come by.
Undisciplined acts by Daylesford ended in four 50-metre penalties throughout the quarter, however Waubra was unable to capitalise on these opportunities.
Clayton Scoble showed that the wet weather didn't bother him. Nor did it bother Peter Jenkin, who constantly repelled attacks throughout the game.
One of the highlights was a terrific smother by Chris Elderfield at half-forward.
With Daylesford up by nine goals heading into the final term it was all over. Two more Button goals and a goal from Luke Beattie after a fantastic kick from the boundary line saw Daylesford run away with a 10-goal win.
