THE Magpies have a chance to meet the Magpies.
Clunes' Magpies under-15 team is in the running to win a training session with the Collingwood Football Club.
The club has made it to the final 11 teams selected from throughout Victoria after Edward Beaumont entered his team.
The winning team will be announced later this week.
Edward, who is in his second year of football, said he had entered the competition because it presented "a good opportunity" for the club to train with AFL level players.
"I wrote about how we don't care if we win or lose, we just have fun and play by the rules," he said. "We are all pretty excited."
Coach Doug Garth said the team was "pretty excited" and had already been presented with 10 footballs and a bucket of drink bottles as part of Edward's entry.
Mr Garth said the team had been "up and down" this year and was placed "about mid-field".
The Fly With The Pies competition, organised through McDonald's restaurants, was open to all players in Victorian junior football clubs in the under-13 to under-17 age groups.
First prize includes a training session at the Lexus Centre and every team member being kitted out with new training gear.
After the training session, the winners will also be invited to spend time in the Collingwood players' lounge.
McDonald's regional manager Steve Shillington said it was fantastic opportunity for a junior Victorian team to "train with their football heroes".
Entries could include either a funny team photo or a 25-word or less story about why their team should win the chance to train alongside the football stars.
