In another district cricket match, Smeaton won the toss at Vic Park and batted against Colts. It was 9/339 at the end of play. Darren Webb,127, and Michael Grose, 105, were in a second wicket partnership of 195 runs. Travis Smithard made 42, while the wickets were shared between
Jason Mackley 4/15, Mall Bolton 2/59, Finley MacDonald 1/49 and Mick Cummins 1/72. Colts have the job in front of them next week.
Due to the bushfires, Korweinguboora was unable to field a team against Hepburn. The match will be played next week.
Daylesford under-16
THE boys had a good win against Castlemaine, chasing 139 runs.
Daylesford was 6/188 at the end of play with Darcy Shewell 50 retired, Andrew Brown 25, Lee Allen 23, Xavier Walsh 19, Rob Glen, 12 not out and Declan Ryan, 11 not out, all doing well.
Next week sees the boys take on Muckleford Gold on Victoria Park No 1.
