Trentham too good for Muckleford

First game after the Christmas break has seen another victory to the Trentham Senior Cricketers against Muckleford. Playing at home Trentham lossed the toss and were sent in to bat first.

Trentham lost its first wicket when Mark Reid was caught by J Branson off the bowling of J Cole with the score on 13.

Harley Forgo joined Isaac Jennings and formed a 24 run partnership and brought the total to 37 when Jennings was caught and bowled by D Stokes for 17.

Dolf Reid and Forgo then formed a match-winning partnership of 98 runs with some good strokeplay around the ground. The partnership ended when Forgo was caught by D Stokes off the bowling of J Priest for 50.

Then Trentham lost five wickets for 11 runs. Dolf Reid made 58 including six 4s. Jake Prewett 17 and Luke Adams 7 together added 25 runs and finished the innings not out. Trentham had made 171 runs and their opening bowlers Harley Forgo and John Cowell bowled tightly early giving the team a good chance. Adam Prewett broke through first when he bowled T Hough for 9 and 4 runs latter Cowell bowled M Woods for 6. P Long 16 was bowled by Mark Reid then Luke Adams runout J Branson for 4.

Dan Lendrec took a good catch off the bowling of Dolf Reid to dismiss M Peckham 15. Mark Reid took the next two wickets of C Klenick 0 and A Jones 3. A Wilson and D stokes put together a partnersahip of 54 run to give Muckleford a chance but Stokes 30 was caught by Luke Adams off the bowling of Dolf Reid after some big hitting. Reid again struck when he run out J Cole and Muckleford were all out for 137 falling 35 runs short of Trenthams total. A great win to Trentham.
